Shyamala Educational Foundation was started by Mr. N. Suresh Reddy, in the memory of Dr. Shyamala Gopalan, a woman of Indian Origin, whose rise to success & fame and her ability to achieve extraordinary things while hailing from a humble background is the inspiration for Shyamala Gopalan Educational Society. Dr. Shyamala Gopalan was born in 1938 in Madras (now Chennai). To pursue her doctorate in nutrition and endocrinology at UC Berkeley, she left India at the age of 19, Dr. Shyamala’s meteoric ascent to become an influential figure in American academia has created a lasting impact on women around the globe. A true definition of a complete woman, Dr. Shyamala excelled as a Scientist, a Mentor, a Mother, and an Activist… Apart from her significant contribution to breast cancer research, she also happens to be the greatest influence for her daughter Mrs. Kamala and Maya...
Owing to her Indian Origin, especially her south Indian roots, the founder, Mr. Suresh Reddy thought it would be appropriate to acknowledge her contribution to the global community in many ways , With this thought in mind, he has established this society and came up with a prestigious SRI WORLD SCHOOL project in her memory, which is intended to bring a remarkable transformation in the educational scenario of the country by providing high-quality opportunities to the students.
